Fair City

Issue Two

October 03, 2018 by hindsight

Our second issue transports the reader back to world fairs and expos over the past seven decades across four continents. As we journey through Montréal, Vancouver (Expo 86 illustrated above), Brussels, Osaka, Brisbane, Milan, and Seattle, we question the long-term impact of these major events on their host cities and review how certain municipalities are preserving their legacy. Issue Two is available at select stockists and on the purchase page.

“World expos are, in fact, still occurring. We may regard them as an antiquated way to communicate and celebrate our different nations in the age of instant information, but there are so rarely opportunities to do just that on such a grand scale.”

Urban Scars

Issue One

October 03, 2018 by hindsight

Our inaugural issue considers the value of infrastructure projects in a handful of cities across the world, including Vancouver, Seattle (depicted above), Toronto, New York, Chicago, Paris, and Sydney. We present both an historical and contemporary viewpoint on the topic of urban infrastructure and what it means for the future of our cities. Richly illustrated with rarely seen archival photographs, our first issue challenges the reader to reexamine what are often seen as urban scars. Issue One is now sold out, thank you for your support!

“Even something deemed an eyesore may be the best reminder of how we have historically chosen to build and move within our cities.”
